History of SG Technologies:

  • 1940's – Permanent magnet manufacture starts within Murex Limited
  • 1963 – BOC acquires Murex Limited
  • 1980 – BOC magnets becomes a major supplier of sintered Alnico magnets to the automotive industry
  • 1984 – SG Magnets Ltd formed
  • 1986 – Production of bonded magnets (compression moulded and injection moulded NdFeB starts)
  • 1987 – New US warehouse to hold stock for SG's growing North American customer base, opens in Detroit, MI
  • 1989 – SG Magnets acquired by Wilshaw PLC
  • 1991 – SG Magnets gains Ford Q1 accreditation
  • 1992 – SG Magnets gains GM mark of excellence
  • 1994 – ISO 9002
  • 1997 – QS9000
  • 1998 – Introduction of high performance, soft magnetic materials
  • 1999 – High volume production of SMC (soft magnetic composite) for passenger car diesel injectors
  • 2000 – Delphi absolute zero defect award received
  • 2002 – High volume production of Silicon iron cores for heavy duty diesel injectors
  • 2012 – MBO - SG Magnets acquired by managment team
  • 2012 – Bosch preferred supplier status achieved 
  • 2013 – Cobalt Iron added to SG material portfolio
  • 2014 – SG Magnets is renamed SG Technologies
